Course-site privacy notice
This is a supplemental educational website for BAD 4013-001. Signing up, using the site, listening to course songs, or voting in a song poll does not affect your course grade. Official graded work, submissions, feedback, and grades remain in Canvas.
Information we collect
- Your verified email address.
- Your first and last name.
- Your course role and whether your access is active.
- Your acknowledgement of this privacy notice.
- A pseudonymous identifier for each optional song vote.
- Temporary failed-enrollment counters used to limit repeated code attempts.
Firebase Authentication also maintains a technical account identifier and sign-in-provider information needed to authenticate you. The course site does not request your OU ID, phone number, address, date of birth, profile photograph, grades, assignments, accommodations, or exam responses.
Why we collect it
We use this limited information to confirm that visitors are members of the course, provide the correct student, instructor, or administrator workspace, prevent duplicate optional song votes, and operate the site safely.
Who can access it
The instructor and designated site administrators can access course profiles when needed to administer the site. Names, emails, and individual voting choices are not displayed to other students. Song results are shown as aggregates.
Service providers and sharing
The site uses Google Firebase Authentication, Google Cloud Run, and Google Cloud Firestore. These services process information only to authenticate users, store the limited course profile, and operate the website. The course site does not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or enable marketing analytics.
Retention and deletion
The Fall 2026 course ends December 11, 2026. Course authentication accounts, names, emails, access records, permitted-email entries, temporary enrollment-security records, and per-user song-vote records will be deleted by January 10, 2027, thirty days after the course ends. Anonymous aggregate counts may be retained for course-improvement purposes.
Your choices
You may use an OU or personal email address. To correct your name or email, request a copy of your course-site profile, or request early account deletion, contact the instructor through Canvas. Early deletion removes access to this supplemental site but has no effect on your enrollment or grade.
We collect the minimum needed to know who may enter, never use this site for grades, and delete identifiable course-site data thirty days after the course ends.
